Photographers Enzo Mercedes, Neil Jones, and Leah Marie Hamilton Crossley

Preparations are under way for Zealous X! We’re excited at showcasing 106 creatives in January across 7 fields at the Richmix in London. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be profiling a bit about each finalist every day so you’ll be able to get acquainted before the event kicks off.

Here are some of our photographers…

Enzo Mercedes

Breaking through the wall of time and space. From a very young age Enzo’s work has been taking place in different parts of the world. Travelling, meeting people and learning languages has shaped and always will influence the style of his photos. Ultimately his work is pointing more to documentaries and lifestyle while keeping always a very aesthetic view of the world.

Neil Jones

Jones’ current practice is engaged with notions of photographic authenticity, specifically in terms of how our world is represented in the digital age. These works aim to subvert the viewers’ expectations of portrait photography, as the subjects represented in these works exist only in terms of computer code. The pensive moments, the distracted gazes, the appearance of being lost in thought are all preprogrammed – these images are created in video game environments, rather than observations based in reality.

Leah Marie Hamilton Crossley

I am a Cardiff-based visual artist applying a personal approach to camera-art, digital image-making and collage. ‘Performance’ is an important catalyst through which I explore my creative practice, allowing me to collaborate with a wide range of artists, performers and companies. I have just completed a year-long residency with National Theatre Wales. I endeavour to establish and disseminate experimental creative-projects in abundance, with meaningful and magical outcomes.
