This Sunday, the 25th of October, Zealous’ Head of Business Development Akua Obeng-Frimpong will join the UK Web Fest for a panel discussion about the opportunities and challenges of creating web series.

Earlier this year the UK Web Fest held an open call via the Zealous platform to find a designer to create their e-invite, the winner was graphic designer Martyna Kramarczyk.

We are delighted to have provided our creative talents with an opportunity to work with UK Web Fest. This is what they say about us: “Zealous was the perfect platform for us to find the talent we were looking for. The quality of work far surpassed our expectations and the Zealous team were so helpful and on-hand consistently with any of our questions. As a PR company handling the work for our client, we couldn’t recommend Zealous more and will definitely be using them again!”. Testimonial from Naek Communications, the Lifestyle PR Agency which handled a design opportunity for their client UK Web Fest.

UK Web Fest is the only UK festival dedicated to showcasing independent digital and streaming series. Festival founder Elisar Cabrera has said in interviews that he sees the similarity between those who make web series and independent filmmakers due to the entrepreneurial nature of their work.

Akua has produced and assisted in making several shorts and music videos. Currently, her most recent work Roxanne (written and directed by Paul Frankl) is being screened around the festival circuit. At UK Web Fest, she will discuss filmmakers’ collaboration, raising their profile, fundraising, and how the Zealous platform is a useful tool for these important aspects of independent filmmaking, especially in a field as young as web series creation.
