First impressions are everything<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You’ve done all the hard work. You’ve spent hours in the studio and weeks in the rehearsal room. Now it’s time to get your work out there in front of new audiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don’t lose people before they reach your artwork! Think of the main page of your portfolio (the page everyone will see first) as the opening line to a book. It’s got to hook your audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add a friendly profile picture, your full name, a short biography and a link to your website or relevant social media channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Add depth to your projects<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Bring the digital representations of your work to life with titles and descriptions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organisations like to know how\u2014and why\u2014you created your artwork. What was your goal? Which medium did you use? What inspired you to use a specific style?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flaunt your skills<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Every time you create a project on Zealous, you’ll be asked to define your role. This is helpful for two reasons:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Your portfolio is filterable by role, which is ace if you’re sending your portfolio to a potential client or an organisation only wants to see specific disciplines.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Every two weeks Zealous will e-mail you recommended opportunities based on your roles.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Make your work discoverable<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Tags play a huge role in how people find your work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    When you create a project, you’ll be given the option to add tags. These are hidden nuggets that are searchable on the Zealous platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    That’s why it’s best your tags reflect every detail of your project. What medium is your work in? (e.g. oil, acrylic, clay). Does it have a theme? (e.g. diversity, nature). How can it be used? (e.g. interior design, landscape design).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Size Matters<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    How big is your artwork? How much does your sculpture weigh? What is the running time of your performance?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    These are all important details for organisations looking to commission your skills or exhibit your work. Include them in the description or add additional text fields to your projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Keep updated<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Most importantly\u2014keep your profile updated!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
