Presented by Procreate Projects, The Mother Art Prize 2018 group show is the only international prize for self-identifying women and non-binary visual artists with caring responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThese twenty artists who are also mothers prove that nothing is taboo, and a mother\u2019s lived experience is as worthy a subject as any other for representation in the art world.\u201d \u2013 Marcelle Joseph<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition features twenty short-listed artists that work across a range of media. It\u2019s curated by independent curator Marcelle Joseph, Zabludowicz Collection director Elizabeth Neilson, and Whitechapel Gallery curator Laura Smith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winner of the Mother Art Prize 2018, announced in December 2018, is British multi-disciplinary artist Candida Powell-Williams<\/a> who creates a complex web of references as she brings together history and symbolism in her work, disorientating the viewer with the familiar and the unfamiliar. Solo Show By Ronch<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make sure to keep an eye out for Cluster\u2019s first solo show with artist Ronch. This is a narrative about the Ronch Underworld created through a combination of faddish stories. Each artwork represents sequences of a surrealist journey, exploring the provocative disruption of social norms and subjective identities. Grotesque characters, involved in the action of the Absurd, populate Ronch\u2019s paintings \u2013 each one meticulously defined through a magnifying glass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
