This Sunday, the 25th of October, Zealous<\/strong>\u2019 Head of Business Development Akua Obeng-Frimpong will join the UK Web Fest for a panel discussion about the opportunities and challenges of creating web series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this year the UK Web Fest<\/strong> held an open call via the Zealous awards platform<\/a> to find a designer to create their e-invite, the winner was graphic designer Martyna Kramarczyk<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

UK Web Fest<\/strong> is the only UK festival dedicated to showcasing independent digital and streaming series. Festival founder Elisar Cabrera has said in interviews that he sees the similarity between those who make web series and independent filmmakers due to the entrepreneurial nature of their work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Akua has produced and assisted in making several shorts and music videos. Currently, her most recent work Roxanne (written and directed by Paul Frankl) is being screened around the festival circuit. At UK Web Fest, she will discuss filmmakers\u2019 collaboration, raising their profile, fundraising, and how the Zealous platform is a useful tool for these important aspects of independent filmmaking, especially in a field as young as web series creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
