Tate Papers is seeking scholarly contributions exploring the role of art museum interpretation in serving audiences, artists and institutions. The call focuses on how museums can tell culturally inclusive stories of art and address complex expectations placed on them today. Contributors can examine challenges in museum interpretation practice, provide case studies on emerging practices, consider ethical justifications for new approaches, and explore how museums can achieve more equitable storytelling when discussing historically excluded artists. Areas of focus include sharing interpretive authority with artists and communities, presenting histories of radicalism and protest, and approaches that centre multiple perspectives.

The Abbey Harris Mural Fund makes grants of up to £7,000 to artists or organisations to create semi-permanent or permanent public murals or site-specific works on walls in any medium in the United Kingdom. Established in 1926, the fund supports serious and ambitious work with artistic rigour being the first criteria of selection. Artists and organisations based in the UK are eligible to apply for projects that include work on walls, floors, or ceilings in UK sites accessible to the general public with a minimum duration of 3 months. The Trustees, who are all artists themselves, study images and review the artist’s previous works, considering the audience for the project, its duration, and how the work relates to its site/demographic. Applications should include a project description, lead artist’s CV, budget, and 10 images.

Diasporas Now, in partnership with the V&A, South London Gallery, Spike Island, and Primary, seeks proposals for six commissioned performances by Global Majority artists working in live art for a national tour under the theme of Macrocosmic Futures. The open call is for artists living and working in England who identify as Global Majority (at least 50% of collaborations/collectives must identify as Global Majority). Artists must be working across mediums suited for live performance including performance art, dance, visual art, and experimental music, with proposals of 20-30 minutes duration. Each selected commission will be awarded £1,050, performing over four evenings at UK arts institutions across Bristol (Spike Island), Nottingham (Primary), and London (V&A South Kensington, South London Gallery). All artists will receive AV, production, marketing, and curatorial support. Applicants must confirm in-person availability for specific performance dates in December 2025 and throughout 2026.

Cambridge Drawing Society members may submit up to three framed works or sculptures, two unframed original artworks (up to A1 size), edition prints, greeting cards, and art books to this non-selective autumn exhibition. All submitted works are expected to be displayed, with over 800 visitors anticipated. Accepted media includes paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture, mixed media, ceramics (non-domestic), and fine art textiles. Works must be produced within the last three years and properly framed according to CDS requirements. The exhibition runs from 26th October to 1st November 2025 at The Old Gym, The Leys School, with a public favourite vote where the winning artist will be featured across all publicity materials for the Autumn Exhibition 2026. A 33% commission applies to all sales, and members are expected to volunteer during the exhibition or pay a £30 non-helper fee.

The BTTL Action Grant provides $10,000 funding to directors worldwide who experience marginalization due to their gender, including women, non-binary and trans directors with a feature film or documentary in late-stage development. The grant supports projects ready to go into production within a year, helping filmmakers advance in critical areas of development such as casting, location scouting, hiring crew or shooting scenes. Finalists become part of the 2026 BTTL Cohort, receiving 1:1 mentorship, curated financier meetings, and travel support to attend the Cannes Film Festival. All applicants receive free access to 2025 Workshop Recordings and the option to join the BTTL Membership Portal launching in December 2025.

Open 2025: The People’s Exhibition invites adult artists based in Leicester and the East Midlands to submit work for display at Leicester Museums & Galleries. The exhibition accepts all art forms, including painting, sculpture, textiles, and photography. Selected works will be showcased alongside pieces by young artists and community groups, offering a chance to be part of a diverse regional artistic community. Entry fees start at £20.50, with concessions available for students and those over 60. Prizes are provided by local businesses. This is an opportunity to gain exposure, connect with the local creative scene, and have your work exhibited in a public gallery setting.

The Aesthetica Art Prize 2025 is an international competition celebrating contemporary art across various media, including painting, drawing, video, sculpture, installation, performance, photography, digital art, artists’ film, ceramics, illustration, and mixed-media. The prize offers £10,000 in cash, a group exhibition at a major public gallery, editorial coverage in Aesthetica Magazine, and a profile on the Aesthetica website. Artists can submit up to two works per entry, with a regular entry fee of £25. Late entries are accepted with a fee of £35. The exhibition is scheduled to run from 19 September 2025 to 25 January 2026 at York Art Gallery.
