Creativity makes our world a better place

Why it is important to champion creativity and how you have helped the creative industries so far.

According to the World Economic Forum, Creativity is the second most important skill to have in the future of work. Creating an environment to be creative and the ability to practice this skill is crucial. Creativity benefits society as a whole.

Barongwa: I am that I am
by Tsoku Maela

When our founder, Guy Armitage, started Zealous, he set out to build an inclusive community for creators from across all fields (visual artists, writers, performers, musicians, etc); all creators were welcome to a platform he hoped would support and find each other to collaborate.

Over time, our network expressed an increased need for opportunities to directly support their craft. This led us to build a submissions management platform. The idea was that by making it easier for others to run their call to submissions (awards, competitions, exhibitions residencies, etc.) we would unlock more opportunities for creators everywhere. This worked, attracting cultural organisations and individuals alike to use our platform to run their calls.

Soon, others outside the traditional creative industries were attracted by the ‘visual’ nature of our UI, making judging fun compared to traditional online forms. We’ve been serving them ever since, with the understanding that by serving other industries, it would allow us to continue supporting the creative industry.

Creativity makes our world a better place and we can’t wait to continue unleashing global creativity alongside you.

It is that focus and practice that leads to expertise and the ability to be creative, which creates opportunities for breakthrough
