How are the invoices calculated when a subscription is upgraded?

Monthly Subscriptions

When you upgrade on a monthly plan, you’ll be charged the full price of your new package immediately, and your monthly billing cycle resets from the upgrade date. However, your annual submission allowance continues to reset on your original subscription anniversary date.

Example:

You’re currently on the 75 submissions package at £39/month
Your monthly billing date is the 1st of each month
Your annual submission allowance resets on March 1st each year
You’ve used 30 submissions so far this year
On January 15th, you upgrade to the 300 submissions package at £119/month

What happens:

You’re immediately charged £119 for the new package
Your monthly billing cycle resets: your next payment will be on February 15th (not February 1st)
You immediately receive the full 300 submission allowance for the year, with your 30 already-used submissions counting toward this (leaving you 270 remaining)
Your annual submission allowance will still reset on March 1st (your original anniversary date), not on January 15th
Going forward, you’ll be billed £119 on the 15th of every month

This means you get immediate access to your new package features and increased submission allowance without waiting for your billing cycle to end.

Annual Subscriptions

When you upgrade on an annual plan, you’ll be charged the full price of your new package immediately. Both your billing cycle and submission allowance reset from the upgrade date.

Example:

You’re currently on the 75 submissions package at £190/year
You have 6 months remaining on your annual subscription
You’ve used 40 submissions so far
You upgrade to the 300 submissions package at £590/year on January 15th

What happens:

You’re immediately charged £590 for the new package
Your submission count resets to 0 (you get your full new allowance)
Your annual renewal date becomes January 15th (not your original date)
Going forward, you’ll be billed £590 on January 15th each year

This means you start fresh with your new package, with a full year of submissions and a new annual renewal date.
