RIBAJ Eye Line Winners Exhibition

Featuring winning and commended entries from this year’s RIBAJ Eye Line Exhibition, the competition is a celebration of architectural image making as an art form. Using various media and styles, the winning entries demonstrate architectural drawing in great variety and depth and do a great service bringing arts and architecture together.

RIBA is open Monday to Friday between 8am and 5.30pm and Saturdays from 10am to 5pm, but check ahead for up to date exhibition times.

HIX Award

The nationally renowned HIX Award has been running yearly since 2013 and is considered one of London’s most exciting and accessible art awards. It’s at the forefront of the emerging art scene in the UK and helps young artists and graduates transition from university to the professional art industry. With a People’s Choice Award as well as an expert team of judges, there’s a chance that someone you voted for is showcasing!

To catch some of the stars of tomorrow in the UK art world, be sure to head to HIX ART to check out the thought-provoking exhibition exploring contemporary issues. Open from 11am until 6pm daily.

National Original Print Exhibition

Created to showcase the best in contemporary printmaking in any printmaking technique, the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers will be holding their annual open submission at Bankside Gallery this year. There were some incredible entries last year, with submissions received being of a brilliantly high standard. We’re looking forward to seeing what creativity is on display this time around.

Open between 11am and 6pm, you’ll be able to catch the best of the UKs contemporary printmakers’ work on the walls of the South London gallery.

The Society of Women Artists Annual Exhibition

Celebrating their 157^th annual exhibition, The Society of Women Artists will be holding their annual exhibition at the end of September. What started out as a necessity for the art world in 1857 is now an annual tradition, with female artists having a space to showcase their work and receive recognition for their most outstanding pieces.

With a hotly anticipated shortlist released, we can’t wait to head down there and check out the full scope of incredible work on display. You can catch the exhibition from 4pm on the 25^th September, with a private viewing on Wednesday 26^th for anyone lucky enough to get an invite. Otherwise, the exhibition is open from 10am until 5pm every day except Sunday 30^th, when it will close at 3pm.

DRAG: Self-portraits and Body Politics

The exhibition features the work of more than 30 artists who have used drag to explore or question identity, gender, class and politics, from the 1960s to the present day.

Showcasing a wide variety of voices who explore the cultural shifts of the past 50 years, DRAG is set to be an eye-opening and beautiful conversation. It’s focused on photography but spans a variety of other media, as well as having a programme of tours led by drag performers.

Catch DRAG: Self-portraits and Body Politics at the Hayward Gallery from 11am – 7pm daily, except Tuesdays when the gallery is closed. Late night opening is on Thursdays until 9pm.
