Doing our part

We have worked hard to understand how we can serve you meaningfully during the COVID outbreak. Here’s what we are doing to support you as best we can.

The world as we know it has changed.

Over-night we have become uncertain and isolated. Our arts institutions are trying to retain their sense of purpose. Balancing their need to serve their audiences remotely in new ways, whilst making sure their doors remain opened to us once we emerge from our homes.

In the past week we have worked hard on understanding how we can serve you meaningfully with the resources that we have.

These are the measures we are taking to do our bit.

Managing Submissions

By reducing the costs associated with managing open calls, we hope to allow you to continue supporting the creative eco-system with opportunities during this time.

For Charities

Charities organising calls that don’t take submission fees can make use of our services absolutely free until the end of this year (31/12/2020).

If you’ve never run an open call, this might a good way for you to maintain relationships with your communities and audiences during this time. We’re also happy to advise you.

Not a Charity?

We want to do our very best to empower organisations that support creative talent directly.

If you are not a charity but want to organise an open call that supports talent. Let us know what you are planning and we’ll see what we can do to help.

For Creators

It’s hard to create something meaningful to support you during this time, however, we have tried our best to alleviate the loneliness of being home and make the most of the time we will have in isolation. When we emerge from our homes, we want to be better at what we do.

Therefore, we are proud to be announcing our portfolio review challenges. These aim to motivate you to spend this time on giving your portfolios a lick of paint, create a peer to peer network of people wishing to receive and give feedback – and offering winners portfolio reviews with exciting judges.

We have launched four calls covering a range of mediums including: Photography, Graphic Design, Short Story, Painting with Craft coming soon!

Going forward

The creative industries are vital in providing our communities with spaces which serve our societies mental well-being. They allow us to dream, imagine better worlds, inspire us to grow and sometimes escape our current realities. It is vital for us to do our bit to keep them going.

Although I can’t tell you what will happen tomorrow; I can tell you that today we stand together shoulder to shoulder (2 meters apart of course) ready to take on the challenges it may bring.

We’re not doctors, we’re not banks, but we are here if you need us – our chat button is on the bottom right of this page.

Stay safe
